Lennon late show saves Harry's Spurs

Harry Redknapp's first taste of a North London derby saw Aaron Lennon score an injury-time equaliser as Tottenham drew 4-4 with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

David Bentley gave Spurs an early lead with a wonder strike against his old team but Mikael Silvestre levelled before half-time with his first Arsenal goal.

William Gallas gave the hosts the lead, like Silvestre with a header from a set-piece, just after the break before Emmanuel Adebayor forced home a third.

Substitute Darren Bent gave Tottenham hope but Arsene Wenger's side restored their two-goal advantage within two minutes as Robin Van Persie fired home.

But Jermaine Jenas pulled one back on 89 minutes before Lennon stroked home in the fourth minute of injury time after Luka Modric had hit the post from 30 yards.

Things started superbly for Redknapp as Bentley scored his first Tottenham goal from all of 40 yards after 13 minutes.

The man who made nine appearances for Arsenal flicked the ball up and then, spotting Manuel Almunia off his line, delivered an astonishing swerving volley that looped over the Spanish custodian and into the net.

Van Persie had a hat-trick of efforts and Gallas fired over from close range before Silvestre levelled eight minutes before the break.

Bentley seemed to have been fouled as Cesc Fabregas won the ball and had his shot pushed around the post by Heurelho Gomes and from the resulting corner, the keeper failed to claim the cross allowing Silvestre to flick his header at the near post into the empty net.

And within two minutes of the restart Arsenal were ahead as Gallas climbed above Vedran Corluka to head Van Persie's free-kick into the bottom corner.

Silvestre was afforded another free header from a corner and Denilson's 20-yard fizzer was pushed away for a corner by Gomes before Adebayor's drive from 12 yards went just past the post.

Arsenal did make it 3-1 after 64 minutes when a superb long-range ball from Van Persie sent Samir Nasri behind the visiting defence, he lobbed the outrushing Gomes and then Adebayor forced the ball home ahead of Hutton.

But three minutes later, a crisp 20 yard strike from Tom Huddlestone was spilled by Almunia and Bent was on hand to stroke home the rebound, shortly after coming on for the ineffective Roman Pavlyuchenko.

However, within two minutes a defensive error by Alan Hutton allowed Adebayor in on goal and he found Van Persie on the left hand side of the penalty area who smashed the ball past Gomes for his 50th Arsenal goal.

Adebayor spurned a free header for a fifth before a lapse of concentration by Gael Clichy gifted the ball to Jenas who run through on goal before curling a delicious 20-yarder into the top corner.

And there was more drama to follow as Modric unleashed a fierce drive that smashed against the post and substitute Lennon was on hand to stroke home a sensational equaliser and grab an improbable point.
